POV- money is medium.
I won't be wrong to say that money is a medium that buys you happiness. It’s always up to us how we think of life and take it. Money indeed has the power to make your life easy or fuzzy. But money is not life. We humans take money so seriously that we sometimes forget the real reason we're here on Earth. We are here for fun, enjoyment, to explore, experience, and love. Money is just the support we need to live all these things.
That’s why it’s important to choose what you love, not what society expects you to love. Society often thinks money is all you need. At some point, money is essential, but it’s needed to help you feel and enjoy the life you have, not to save and stay in hustle mode every day. I understand the uncertainty of life—especially after COVID-19, we’re all more aware of that. So yes, maintain an emergency fund. But the core of life is to live freely and happily, to do what you’re passionate about.
We are here to create a life full of memories and happy thoughts, not to be trapped in the worry of how to earn money and “get” a life. Money is just a resource we need for living. But if you look at today’s life, people are living just to have money. And I think, wow, what are you doing? Money will always come to you when you’re doing things with pure effort. It’s never going to come with the mean intention of just having more and more money.
I’ve always been critical of how people chase money. You don’t need to give up the life you love just for money. I’ve seen people who leave the life they enjoy behind. Honestly, who wouldn’t love life in India? The Indian lifestyle is one of the happiest and most comforting. You should never abandon your true self—your whole existence—just for money. Because it’s human nature to seek happiness, not just money.
